Michelle Thompson is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit R&D Open Research Institute (ORI). Responsible for amateur satellite service regulatory reform, she sits on the FCC Technological Advisory Council. Chair of the San Diego Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), she is passionate about amateur radio and has created a wide variety of practical circuit designs and founded the Information Theory Society and Open Source Digital Radio local group.
