Mohrman Ed WA7EM

Ed Mohrman, WA7EM, holds an Extra Class license and has been a ham since 1964. His Novice call sign was WN9NDH, having passed the code and written exams in person, at the Chicago FCC office. Ed has engineering degrees from Valparaiso University and Arizona State University. Ed 1st station was vacuum tube era equipment. In the 1980s, Ed achieved his 1st SSB WAS and DXCC awards. After periods of inactivity while raising children and demanding jobs, Ed is again active having achieved additional Digital and CW WAS and DXCC awards. Ed operates both modern and vintage equipment, both fairly modest. Modern test equipment is much more affordable than in earlier years and so, Ed is able make progress in hands on learning about the classic circuits in vintage and new radios. Ed is a member of the Longmont Amateur Radio Club. Ed lives in Erie Colorado, has been married for 52 years and has two adult children.
