Bob Rose, KC1DSQ, got his BSEE in 1969 at University of Maryland. He worked at Raytheon on signal processing for fire control radars and large phased array radars. He then went to Digital Equipment Corp where he worked on graphics and multimedia chips and software and Alpha CPUs. Then, he went to Intel where he worked on several generations of XEON cpu chips, primarily doing power management. He got his technician license upon his retirement in 2015 and upgraded to general and extra class in one VE session in 2017. He wanted to stay involved in technology in retirement, so he began learning about designing antennas. He participates in the local ARES net and operates primarily on SSB and FT8 on
